about

Singer/songwriter Eddie Skuller has recruited Grammy award winner Victor Rice to produce and mix his new single “Heaven” with his deep reggae and dub sensibilities. “Heaven” is a cover of the Talking Heads song from their album Fear of Music. Rice says “my first thought was of the Rastafarian Nyabinghi rhythm. Between that beat and the use of a gospel organ, I was able to create the spiritual vibe Skuller was looking for. Skuller’s voice has that ringing quality which makes it cut through the thickest of arrangements, that in itself is a pleasure for any producer.”

“Heaven” features gorgeous backing vocals from Caz Gardiner, guitar and percussion from Alex Tea, and producer Victor Rice provided bass, keyboards and percussion. Cover art from Scott Cottrell at swi_rl_design.

Eddie Skuller’s first band was MOOT – a rhythmic post-punk group that relied heavily on drums and percussion and frequently played the legendary club CBGB’s. Eddie Skuller was introduced to reggae dub by his favorite band, The Slits (Dennis Bovell producer) and has been performing in the New York area since the early 1980’s. The New York Times has compared his voice to Roy Orbison, Cher and George Michael.
